So hello and welcome to our first Blog of our career and of the year. I hope this will be the first of many to come. The idea of blogging will be to provide our students with another resource for improving their English comprehension skills, along with vocabulary building. I have wanted to start this Blog since January 1st, but well as the saying goes; “if it wasn’t one thing it was another” OR “better late than never.”

In order to start the discussion I will answer my own questions. I am currently reading “The Happiness of Pursuit” by Chris Buillebeau. Here is the link to his book; https://www.amazon.com/Happiness-Pursuit-Finding-Q...

This book tells about amazing people and their quests as Chris calls them. People who have done and accomplished extraordinary things, such as the author himself who travels to all of the countries in the world, and about a girl who sailed the world alone as a teenager, and a man who walks across the USA and on and on. It’s very interesting to hear about these people and their accomplishments. It talks about how difficult these quests can be but that the people who accomplish them never give up, even when there are times when they feel they just can’t anymore. I know we all experience this feeling at some time or another even if we aren’t on a quest.

I particularly love reading Nicolas Sparks, many of whose books have become Hollywood movies, along with Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown. They are all romance novelists. Lately, I have also begun reading WISDOM like books. My favorite so far is called “The Conscious Parent” By. Dr. Shefali Tsabary and absolutely amazing book on parenting, here is a link to her page: https://drshefali.com/the-conscious-parent/

As I mentioned earlier I love reading and put it at the top of my goals list every year. Thinking about Chris’ book and quests I am challenging myself to read at least 2 books a month starting this month. I will keep you posted on my progress. Now it’s your turn, “You’re It.”
